Easter Morning

We had a great Easter. We started out with the kids waking up to string all over the house. The Easter Bunny tied a different color of string each Easter basket. The string went from the basket wound all over the house to a tag taped to the banister. The kids found their name tags, followed their strings around to where the basket was hidden. Daniel found his in the play pen, Benjamin found his in the dryer, Michael in the computer desk cabinet, and Allison had her hidden in the garage refrigerator. We then had breakfast and headed off to church. The music was beautiful and the sermon was very touching. We then came home and hosted another family from church for Easter Lunch. The kids then had an Easter Egg Hunt. It was nice and cold out for the egg hunt. Happy Easter everyone.

Today at 4:25 the call came.... It is 4:25 I was sitting out by the pool just getting ready to get in. The neighbor had just left and my kids were swimming. I sit on the edge to slide in and just then the phone rings. I think I will see who it is, but I am not going to answer it. It says 703.... oh my I think that is America World, I start crying. I answer the phone and it is Terra she asked me how I was, I ask is this "the call" she says yes... I am yelling at the kids get out of the pool, on the deck, no off the deck, close up the pool, it's "the call" I am just crying and going crazy! The neighbor hears me and thinks that someone got hurt in the pool, she comes running. The kids are yelling it's our referral. Day Four (tomorrow we go home)

Hello again. It is Thursday night! We went to Kids Care Orphanage today. That is where Daniel lived from March 31st until June 10th. It was really sad to see all the kids there that do not have families waiting to pick them up. We got some great videos of the older kids in their school singing the ABC's and singing in Amharic. We passed out granola bars and dum dums. We also took some playground balls. When we took Daniel into the home and told the nannies, that we had Fitsum, they just went crazy. They were so excited to see him. They held him and kissed him, and spent time talking to him. One of them talked to him in Amharic and Robel our guide translated it for us on video. There were rooms of healthy children, rooms of sick kids, rooms of toddlers, and the school house of about 30 kids. The kids just couldn't get enough attention from us.
