The 20 Day Count Down!!!

We are leaving in 20 days for Ethiopia!!! We have a court date of November 4th! This is exactly 2 years from Daniel's Gotcha Day! The day we took him into our care forever. Tom, Lori, Sara (17), and Michael (10) will be traveling to Ethiopia. We are so excited to finally meet our daughter and be able to hug her and kiss her! We will arrive back in the US on Nov. 6th with out her. As soon as the US Embassy gives approval I will travel back to Ethiopia to bring her home! We are excited to enter the next step of adoption...

We have 150 pounds of donations at this time, 75 care packages for Kind Hearts, gifts, and other goodies. We are also taking cash donations along to buy food for the orphanages, and Kind Hearts! If you would like to donate anything please let me know! We will update as much as wee can while we are in Ethiopia!!!

I'm so behind on news!! I didn't know you guys were taking this trip--though I knew about you referral (can't wait to see pictures!!). You all are on my mind often, as I think about your adoption--praying that court goes well and the trip is fantastic.

Today at 4:25 the call came.... It is 4:25 I was sitting out by the pool just getting ready to get in. The neighbor had just left and my kids were swimming. I sit on the edge to slide in and just then the phone rings. I think I will see who it is, but I am not going to answer it. It says 703.... oh my I think that is America World, I start crying. Day Four (tomorrow we go home)

Hello again. It is Thursday night! We went to Kids Care Orphanage today. That is where Daniel lived from March 31st until June 10th. It was really sad to see all the kids there that do not have families waiting to pick them up. We got some great videos of the older kids in their school singing the ABC's and singing in Amharic. We passed out granola bars and dum dums. We also took some playground balls. When we took Daniel into the home and told the nannies, that we had Fitsum, they just went crazy. They were so excited to see him. They held him and kissed him, and spent time talking to him. One of them talked to him in Amharic and Robel our guide translated it for us on video. There were rooms of healthy children, rooms of sick kids, rooms of toddlers, and the school house of about 30 kids. The kids just couldn't get enough attention from us.
