8 Days!!!

Here we are 8 days before travel. We have six fifty pound bags and three fifteen pound bags all of donations... We still need to pack a back pack for each of us and one fifty pound bag of clothes, toiletries, etc. This is going to put us one bag over our limit. I would say having too many donations is a good thing though! Please pray that when we get the airport that our scale at home will mach up with their scale and that they will be feeling generous and wave the extra baggage fee. If they decide to charge us, it will cost $200 for the extra bag. They could also charge us if any of our bags are over the fifty pounds. It is hard to weigh them on a little bathroom scale.
Thank you so much to all of you who helped donate items and money for the orphans of Ethiopia. There are going to be a lot of smiles because of your generosity! Please continue to follow our journey and please keep the prayers coming!
We will be gone from Saturday October 30th until Saturday November 6th. A great a big thanks to all that are making this trip possible! We couldn't do it without our friends and family!

WOOHOO!!!! Your travels begin! Praying for safe and swift travels, and lots of love as you meet your daughter! Praying for passing court, precious time with your daughter and loads of blessing on the children at KVI! You are such a God-filled woman! How wonderful to be able to make a difference for those children so FAST! May your time with them be blessed as well! Can't wait to follow your time there! Blessings!

The primary reason we made this trip to Ethiopia was to have Daniel and Tamenech meet their birth families as well as learn the culture and history of their native countries. In order to start the process, we hired a gentleman who we've known for many years to find them. Yonas has helped numerous adoptees find their birth families, so we were excited to learn what he could find. We sent him all of the information we had and he started his work. In short time, he had located everyone. Tamenech's family is from Sidama, a territory in the southern part of the country. They live in traditional huts in a  vlllage with no running water or electricity. We knew Tamenech had grandparents and at least one sibling. Yonas reported after a visit that Tamenech's grandfather had passed, along with one brother. IT'S A BOY!

Today at 4:25 the call came.... It is 4:25 I was sitting out by the pool just getting ready to get in. The neighbor had just left and my kids were swimming. I sit on the edge to slide in and just then the phone rings. I think I will see who it is, but I am not going to answer it. It says 703.... oh my I think that is America World, I start crying. I answer the phone and it is Terra she asked me how I was, I ask is this "the call" she says yes... I am yelling at the kids get out of the pool, on the deck, no off the deck, close up the pool, it's "the call" I am just crying and going crazy! The neighbor hears me and thinks that someone got hurt in the pool, she comes running. The kids are yelling it's our referral.
