On our way
We're sitting in the Boston airport. It was quite the experience to be hauling all of our big and heavy bags full of donations to the orphanage through the airport.
Despite weighing our bags multiple times on our cheap bathroom scale, one of the bags ended up being nine pounds over. Upon being informed, Lori whipped into action (you should have seen her. It was very impressive). As she was saying out loud that she was going to start redistributing items in the suitcase, she simultaneously pulled out a large can of formula (donation to the orphanage, she said) and her picture book of Daniel's photos. You could see the ticket agent's face soften while Lori explained where we were going, what we were doing, and why our bags were so heavy. A 52 pound suitcase? No problem she tells us. Fifty-nine pounds? She doesn't give it another thought.
Addis Ababa, here we come!
